A strong proponent of libertarian economics and an opponent of insurance-related (and other) regulation, Dr. Harshman has contributed material to the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons and to members of the Libertarian Party. He has developed a theory of how, without government involvement, patients, doctors, and insurers can provide good health care at low cost by relying on ordinary market forces.
